WHO WE ARE
The Executive Director of The K.E.N. Project, Dina C. Kaplan is the mother of Brandon, a young adult with multiple disabilities of unknown etiology. Dina is a litigation attorney at Newman, Aaronson, Vanaman the preeminent law firm in California protecting children with disabilities. With more than thirty-six years of experience, she has trained hundreds of families to be effective advocates for their disabled children. Dina also has twenty-two years of experience representing families in Due Process Hearings, mediation, resolution conferences and other administrative hearings. Learn more about Dina here.
The Assistant Director, Andrea Lorant is an Advocate and Educational Consultant. She is the mother of three adult children, two of whom have special needs. Andrea has a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology and was a teacher with Los Angeles Unified School District for thirteen years prior to starting her Advocacy practice. Andrea is an experienced advocate who accompanies and advises families at IEP meetings, resolution conferences and mediations.
